Smile Pledge polish as a balloon shine substitute
Hi all. This is the first topic that I've started. I bought this 36" inch hi floated helium balloon on Feb 04 2016 just 10 days from Valentine's Day. She still looks mighty good and really hasn't changed in size. She's been up for almost a month and 2 weeks. Shortly after getting her I thought I'd try Pledge furniture polish to keep the oxidation off of her. It really seems to work , not only keeping her shiney but seems to be doing something to help keep her size and loft longer. I think she's beautiful !!!!

One more, I promise.
Nighttime illumination .Hope everyone likes the way she looks and won't get me shouted down by posting to many pictures. I've always wanted one of these. They were selling them for Valentine's Day with a net over them and a little gift basket below like a hot air balloon get up.I asked to have one blown up with out all of that stuff ,at a considerable savings to boot. I made sure to ask the clerk to preinfate with air first, before putting in the hi float . I think she did an awesome job as it seems to have helped with the float time by pre stretching her.Hope every one likes her as much as I do and give me positive feedback.

It's lasted a month and a half with helium? Wow, that's really good, even with hi-float...

Anyways, I wouldn't worry too much about posting too many pictures. You're the one who started this thread so unless you're breaking any rules it doesn't really matter.

That's actually amazing! Please keep posting pictures.

BubbleBoy, I totally agree, I get really attached to my balloons sometimes, even moreso to my inflatables.

Thanks guys. She'll be a month and three weeks come Thursday. Yes, I want her to last as long as possible. I'm glad most on here are of like minds about how we feel about balloons. The average person would say it's silly to care for a balloon and get attached to it. That's why I'm glad we have these message boards to talk about such things. It's almost like she's alive. I've read something to that effect somewhere else ,of helium filled latex balloons. My favorite movie is the Red Balloon, from 1956 about a young boy and his red balloon. They become friends but that comes to a tragic end at the end of the film when the balloon is killed by a bunch of bullies. Happily the young lad is rescued by all of the balloons of Paris and is taken up into the sky. Truly a wonderful film.
Anyway, I will keep everyone posted on the longevity of my red balloon.I do love her.😊

I believe the pledge I'm using is more of a water base and combination of a water soluble wax or polish.I was very afraid at first and lightly tested it.
