The eastern trip keeps "bulking up on me" and too muscular to include northern Maine and Dallas on the same trip! I was also going to be cheating myself massively out of the marvelous times I have in New Jersey. (Don't laugh...it's true!)
I really WOULD enjoy meeting you, B! Most definitely am always open to meeting "new" people in NY City, for sure, because it is a great place to go. Where in the city are you? (Yeah, I know that NYC usually = Manhattan, but officially it could be the Rockaways, too...) And you know I'm Frank...what should I call you?
Probably better to reply by PM, because at least I'm much more reasonably sure I'll see it on a timely basis.
So good to hear from you B... - I'm seeing this message only (CLOSE TO) a full year later, man! Sorry I didn't reply before.
Of course I didn't end up going to NY City in the fall last year, after all. That prospective trip has been postponed for exactly a year, and I'm looking at early fall THIS year instead. The trip was supposed to go roughly Chicago - northern Maine - Asheville - Miami - Houston - Oklahoma City - Chicago! Mind you, this is a ROAD trip!
I'm rethinking and probably encouraging Road Trip Mitosis. The initial trip (because it would by far be the northernmost of the two) would include up to the Miami part with a couple Alabama stops before Chicago, second would be a smaller one with all the stuff in the southwest quadrant out of Chicago.
I don't think the original mega-plan is doable in 45 or 46 days, the longest I can ever make a trip without some exotic logistics with mail, etc. (part 2 continues next)
