    How diverse is your stash?

In other words, do you tend to buy/acquire a wide range of brands and/or sizes? Or do you stick with a few favorites? I realize this can be either by choice or by necessity.

Good question! I reckon mines pretty diverse although I do have the regular go-tos, being Q36s, TT17s and various GLs. I tend to have large quantities of these but also have a fair few different kinds - i like to try new ones every now and then!

I'm not really too fussed on any given make, but I do go for the larger size loons.

My stash is quite diverse; I've acquired many different balloons over the years & there are a few types that actually do tend to stick to on the regular. When i was working in the medical field i went wild on an eBay buying spree

I bought every balloon i ever dreamed of owning. I started with giant surplus military weather balloons & high tech space balloons, pilot balloons ranging from 30 gram to 600 . I'll admit that some of the balloons I ordered had no chance of ever being blown up simply because of their sheer size. Where the hell am i gonna inflate a 20 foot balloon?
My house only has eight foot ceilings, lol! But just having them as part of my collection was enough for me. I have over 40 weather balloons.

I then went crazy buying cloud busters, I spent hundreds on balloons of different brand, design, size, color & shape.

Then finally i started my looning collection.

A thousand 12"ers for blow to pops
        Q16s
        Q24s
        Q36s
        Q36" hearts
        Cattex Gl 1200s
        Cattex dolls
        Jelly bean balloons
        55"hearts

        TT-17s
TT-24s are my regular go to's as well as Cattexs. I keep the majority of my balloons nicely organized in a big Rubbermaid bin that has an airtight seal. I have a few excess weather balloons that i keep boxed away. Occasionally I'll loon with a weather balloon to switch things up as they are interesting & have unique properties that one wont find in regular balloons

But i guess i could be considered more of balloon enthusiast than anything else, lol!
I love buying balloons! I been in contact with some truly wonderful people who sold me the balloons.

I order all my balloons online with my credit card & one time i ordered too many & i was overdrawn & I didn't have draft protection! I drove like a mad man down to my credit union so i could make a deposit. I didn't want to pay a 30 dollar overdraft penalty fee. I've known the bank manager for years...shes super cool & always has a different wild hair style every time i go there
She cut me a break & i paid the balance & got everything sorted out

.........she got on her computer & pulled up my statement & smiled & chuckled as she scrolled down & then printed it. My face flushed & I felt & wave of heat come over as i realized what she was looking at. She handed me my statement & I glanced at it before stuffing it into my pocket. Balloons....all balloons...the list just went down. At first I felt embarrassed but by the time i was in the parking i smiled & thought: I don't care if she knows i love buying balloons, I'm glad! She did smile & giggle after all!

        I'll never stop buying balloons!
One's collection always has room to swell!

I have a lot of different brands and size in my collection, as I've tried out a lot of different balloons over the years.
Brands include Qualatex, Belbal, Tuf-Tex, Cattex, BSA, Unique and Sempertex. For sizes I have everything between 11" and 36", but most are 16" or below. I don't really pop anything bigger than 16" on purpose, so they last a while. There's mostly round balloons, but I also have some GLs and two giant dolls.

My stash is just cheapo Chinese balloons from department stores, grocery stores, and some from Asian owned dollar stores. I've just got some cheap 9 inch ones, 12 inch ones, and I had a 20 inch clear confetti balloon (which I didn't use for confetti), but that one oxidized and had so much condensation inside it so I threw it out. So all I've got are cheap (but decent) Chinese balloons, but I hope to get some Cattex and Qtex balloons in the future, perhaps some TTex too.

My stash isn't diverse at all, I don't really like big balloons and I'm scared of popping for the most part (I can only comfortably pop them underneath a duvet or similar muffling device). I also don't play that often so I don't need a lot. I just have a bag of 12" balloons I got from target, some left over 9" from Walmart (hate Walmart but target doesn't carry 9"), and a handful of loose 9 and 12" left over from previous bags or obtained individually. I often deflate and reuse balloons so some of the loose ones are very stretched out, but then they sit for a while because I'm afraid of them popping the next time around, so I only ever use them when I plan on popping which I don't do unless I have a large chunk of guaranteed private time.

Re: How diverse is your stash?

I really like to try out new things and I really like shopping.
When I am visiting a city somewhere in the country to shop for clothes, I also visit the local party store if they have one. If they have balloons I don't know, I buy them.
But unfortunately most shops here in the Netherlands only sell Folat or Globos, or they relabeled one of these brands in a package with their stores name. So I often don't buy anything or just a small package of 10 balloons. I like to ask the people of these shops "if they have somewhat larger than usual balloons (because I need them for a photoshoot)". Often the only larger balloons than 12" are 36" balloons (for an extreme high price). When I say that those are too big, their response is like "then you partly inflate them". Then I respond again "I don't like half inflated balloons". At such moments I am really thinking like "don't you know how many balloons exist between 12" and 36"?" Apparently they don't.

But luckily we have some great shops online. So I like to order 10 balloons each of brands and sizes I never tried before. So over the years I bought a lot of balloons online, but when they arrived, I was like "I only have a few of these, I have to be careful. So I kept them save. So now, after a couple of years I have quite some "rare" balloons, but they are aging and stick together. Are hard to inflate and pop premature. Really a shame...
So my advice to all people with many balloons: use them!

I honestly don't know what good balloons I currently have have left.

                  Ha,ha!
I know what you mean, Marja, when you have only a few of a certain type of balloon & you carefully want to ration them

I've been holding onto 6 teal Q-24s for over two years & cant bring myself to blow one up to save my life....but they will eventually get sticky & unusable so it's pointless. But they still seem to be holding up pretty well considering how long I've had them.

Re: How diverse is your stash?

I have mostly qualatex, quite a few 16s, one bag of 18s (need to get around to ordering more soon), and the vast majority of the q24s I got last year. Those kinda scare me, but woah the neck, uninflated, is impressive.
I had a hole batch of PMU (party magic USA (mostly sold through amazon)) though I ran through those like water. The long necks give me more surface to hold on to.
I rather like the 24s they make, although I've never ridden them too hard maybe 10 pounds of my body weight at most. They don't last particularly long once you inflate them, PMU in particular.

I'm hanging onto some Q24s too. I also know I should use them before too long.

Once I get my first B.U. order and check out Belbal & Cattex for the first time, I think I might narrow the range of brands I buy. I have a bunch right now — Qualatex, Tuftex, those Amscan 24", some Chinese-made 27" and 36" — but I tend to reuse balloons more often now than I used to. I don't go through them as quickly anymore...

Not a whole lot actually. Most of my stash is Qualatex, with a few Cattex stuff I bought off the internet not long ago. Used to have a heap of Q24's not long ago, but my supply of those is on its last legs. I probably won't be getting any more any time soon. Also got a handful of Q18's and a giant pile of Q16's.
Most of these are standard ones. For some reason I shoot a bigger load with standards than jewels, so I bought more standards after I learnt that fact.

There are still some Q24s available on Amazon, but you'll have to pay a pretty penny, for obvious reasons.
