    Restart a download

Hi guys, I was downloading a file with Edge, unluckily the browser get closed so I just have a temporary file in the download folder.
Do you know how to restart the download without search the file again?

Depending on the file you're downloading, and what type of file (audio, video, a document, something else entirely) it is, some browsers may give you an option to try the download again, but - from my knowledge of IT stuff - once you close the browser, there's not much you can do.

The simplest solution, is going to be to try and locate the file again, and redownload it again, from scratch. I know that's not going to be easy, but it will be the quickest and most painless.

More often than not, computers that try to download part of a file, after some of it was already downloaded and then cancelled partway through, don't tend to work, and the file gets corrupted, and often will fail when you try and open it.

You can try googling the file name with its extension, and see if that takes you to the site you originally got it from, but you may have to bite the bullet, and just start the entire process again, and be careful not to disrupt the download by closing the browser.

    Good Luck with things.

This might sound kinda geeky - 'cause it is - but if you know the url where your partial file came from, you can use "wget -c url" to resume the download. Has saved me much time on flaky connections, especially back in the dialup era.
wget comes standard with linux, and can be downloaded for Windows (and MacOS?).
You'll need to start a command prompt and navigate to where the partial file is, then wget.
