    Balloon tying

    Hey people, can anyone recommend some tips on how to best tie heaps of super tight balloons?

    I recently attempted to make a balloon room - wanted to fill it as full as I possibly could with as many super tight, fully necked balloons. Although I found that after only maybe like 30 balloons my fingers started to lose strength and became really sore when trying to tie them.

    I think we all know how much more difficult it is to tie a balloon when it’s neck is completely full. I guess I could perhaps just leave a little bit more room in the neck, but I honestly want the all the balloons to be at bursting point. I don’t want any room left.

    I’ve tried those plastic tying tools but they’re only really useful for balloons blown to rated size and have lots of neck left to work with. I was wondering if anyone had any other tips or tricks on how to easily and quickly tie off hundreds of fully necked balloons?

      I use one way valves, clips or small rubber bands for really full balloons or balloons I want to save and inflate again. The one way valves work really well for over inflation for me because I can keep going back and adding more air.

          I mostly use 36" Round Tuff Tex Balloons. I have a foam Practice Golf Ball I put in the inlet neck if I put way too much Air in it.

              Small zip ties also work well. I use zip ties on my giant balloons as it much simpler than tying them. And the ties can be cut away carefully to add more air if required later.

                  Zip ties have sharp edges and can easily damage the thin latex of the balloon. Small rubber bands are a better solution in my opinion.

                      You could use balloons to tie balloons. I've seen other people do it, just put an uninflated balloon inside and blow it up just enough so it seals the entrance, then tie this much smaller balloon, you'll have much more room for tying. I am not sure how effective that method is, but it never hurts to try.
                      And I ask myself, why? and all I hear is the cold, dead silence of the cosmos.

                          Elastic bands wound a few times around a twisted inflation point work well.

                              Thanks for the tips guys. The elastic band method sounds good. Does anyone have any photos or videos on how to do this?

                                  Blow the balloon up as usual, them twist the end a few times to seal it. Take a small elastic band and wind it around the balloon once as tight as you can and twist the elastic band. Do this about 7 more times and the balloon should stat sealed.

                                      The method I've used for the longest time is to squirt a little high float into the nozzle, twist it several times and fold it up over itself. Kind of like making a U shape. Then tie them together with ribbon. Makes an airtight seal and when you want to add more air or deflate it, you just undo it and pull the stuck sides apart. A little water will loosen it right up. You'll have to play around with the hi float till you get it down. Too little and it won't seal properly. Too much and you make a mess and it won't dry fast enough or at all.
