Re: Afraid to be discovery

Yes, the first time non-looners encounter truly huge balloons is always worth watching. :-) They either never realize they come in larger-than-party sizes, or never grasped they could be obtained by...

Re: The Balloon Show..The Wow Wow Wees!

I think the videos need to play for a minimum time before they will register as a View. It might be a couple of seconds, it might be a minute or more, perhaps depending on the length of the video.

Re: Different types of balloons?

I used Unique 16"s recently. It helped the room had a high ceiling. :-)

Re: Weakspots/defects with tuftex 17's

I would say it is unlikely to be a problem. Tuftex's have a reputation for aging fast, but you'd know and they'e gotten better in recent years, anyway.

Although they shouldn't have bubbles like...

Re: What hose can fit on my air pump?

Have a rummage in the irrigation section of Bunnings. There is not only clear hose of a variety of sizes, there are short lengths of intermediate sections designed for doing connections.

However,...

Re: Hotel room looning.

Whilst I've not left balloons in a hotel room, I've heard that experienced hotel housecleaning staff have lots of stories of all sorts of interesting things they've found. Balloons are likely way up...

Re: Your experience with Unique 16"

I would echo pretty much everything said so far. It's been a very very long time since I've had one pop before rated size. They're basically my go-to for a general purpose balloon. Once inflated,...

Re: Stores that sell 16" and 17" balloons

Spotlight stores with party sections usually have Q 16s, though you might have to search a bit as the have a wide range of colours and prints in Q12s.

Re: What Balloons do You Currently Have Blown Up?

I've got a Tuf-tex 17 tied to a bookcase and two Unique 16"s on my bedroom floor.

I seem to have periods where I'll have lots of balloons around, then they expire (usually deflating due to age)...

Re: Noise canceling headphones

There are earmuffs with active noise-cancelling designed for pistol clubs. They work differently than the commonly available ambient noise-cancelling headphones. However, I've only seen them on...

Re: Qualatex 36

Aren't Qualatex 36s more like 30 inches? I've had Q36 balloons not make it to 36 inches, too.

Re: Newbie defect question

Just for further information, these defects are often from air-bubbles in the latex dipping tanks. Which is basically a process quality problem. This is why we like the brand name balloons we do as...

Re: Silly curiosity

The display was designed to look like a mass of bubbles, so exclusively round balloons were chosen; a Cattex long-neck would not have worked at all. Some were under-inflated to achieve in-between...

Re: Opinions about qualatex 16

Qualatex are also consistently high quality. It's very rare to find one with any sort of problems. Uniques don't have such a good track record and neither do Tuf-tex.

Re: First thing you did on your own?

I really can't remember what my first balloon thing was when I finally had my own place. But I do know it took me a few months to realize that I had the whole apartment to use! :-D After that, I...

I just realized something about me and my stash

I currently have more uninflated balloons in packets than I have ever had. So much so that I forget what I have, despite attempts to organise them!

My latest purchase often lives with the...

Re: Best 36-inch balloon?

Other than the 24", Qualatex ballons 16" or bigger have a reputation for being difficult to neck. Their 30" balloons are known for not necking.

Re: US Unique 16" Sources?

Mellyloon's printed balloons are Unique 16s. And Mellyloon is in the US.

Probably not really the answer you're after.

Re: Besides loving to blow balloons big and hard

I like combining balloons and clothing. The other think I like is rubber inflatable clothing, but that gets expensive really quick, so I don't have very much.

Re: How do you measure the size

The chair-and-wall technique is the usual one for the looner. Another guide for the more huge balloons is a doorway. I've had 36" balloons inflated far enough that they couldn't fit through the...

Re: rated size vs actual size of loons

I think it depends on the brand to some extent, too. I don't have trouble getting Uniques to their rated size, particularly 16"s which easily get larger. OTOH Qualatex always seem to be over-specced,...

Re: blow to pop balloon

I love the idea of a printed balloon commanding the blower to go all the way! Especially 16" balloons. But as a non-popper, I'm afraid I have never tried to do that.

Re: Untimely pop

Yeah, happened a few times to me. It's a bit complex to explain, but I was essentially humping a giant under-inflated balloon, but it was inflated unevenly and multiple times. So of course it burst....

Re: Best 36-inch balloon?

I think "best" is highly subjective. I have some Chinese ones that great because of how soft they are - but they can be fragile and they're noticeably not spherical. More like a cross between...
