Hi all,

We have been a long time lurkers in balloon forums since the dark ages of dial up internet where #Chipple’s site and the Champagne and Balloons forum were the places to be.

Like many people in the UK we find getting good balloons to be quite challenging. Therefore, we have had no option other than to buy from some of the great online balloon stores in Europe.

This difficulty in buying good quality balloons at an affordable price and without long delivery times has lead my wife and I to set up our own UK based online balloon store (www.balloonace.com). Our online store is scheduled to start selling balloons within the next few weeks.

Initially we plan to stock Belbal, Tuf-tex and Qualatex balloons in a range of sizes from 11” to 36” in jewel, standard and metallic finishes. This range will be extended over the following months to suit customer demand.

If there are any specific brands, shapes, sizes or colours of balloons you would like us to stock please contact us either via PM here or via social media.

Given that Qualatex isn't making any new ones.... most likely not. You can only find them on ebay etc. anymore, sadly.

Apologies for not responding sooner as we have been tied up with the website build, stock ordering and the list of never ending business set up stuff.

Qualatex 24" have been discontinued for a while, but as these are some of our favourites we will be exploring what our supply chain can get hold of. If we can get hold of some Qualatex 24" stock we will definitely be selling them.

We have stock on order with Belbal, Qualatex and Tuf-tex including some of our own custom branded Belbal 14" crystal clear balloons. This range will be expanded greatly over the next six months if everything goes to plan though.

Our website is now built but we have a few bits of back office and legal compliance stuff to do until we can launch. If everything goes to plan we should be fully operational at the start of May.

We will be a little bit more active on here going forwards but we do not want to exploit this forum with a mass of self promotion which will inevitably end up irritating everyone. Please continue to look at our announcements on social media and sign up to our email subscribers list on our web site.

Hi Bug. I wish you the best for your company, and once you are up-and-running, I'll certainly be wanting to try it out, and see how it compares to other similar companies (like Balloons United, for example).

In regards to Qualatex 24"ers, you may struggle to find anywhere that has these; has stock that isn't too old, or that don't charge a fortune for them. As they are most Looner's favourite size/shape/brand, I think it'll be very hard for you - though I wish you the best. As they were discontinued in early 2018, any stock you have will be over a year old already. Most stock, will be older than that. And old balloons, even when unopened and stored correctly, deteriorate. I just don't think that old stock will be what many would want to risk buying. But, good luck nonetheless.

Hi all,

A quick update.

Everything is set up and the website is built. Initial stock is ordered, mailing supplies and custom packing has arrived. We are almost good to go.

The plan was to open the store last week but our stock still hasn't arrived due to Easter and other holidays. Our suppliers assure us that we will receive the stock late next week so hopefully we will be opening mid-May.

PS - Our Qualatex supplier says that the supply chain has run out of Qualatex 24" and there is no way of getting any.

PPS - Upon a Google search we note that the Balloon Ace domain was previously used by a balloon artist in Florida (about 5 years ago). We have no affiliation to that company and other searches suggest they are no longer trading.

Hi All,

Another quick update.

We have been still been working hard behind the scenes but have been delayed by our suppliers not delivering to previously forecasted timescales due to the Easter and bank holiday Monday shutdowns (amongst other holidays in Europe).

We have finally received all of our Tuf-tex order and are in the process of uploading stock to our website.

The Belbal and Qualatex is currently expected by the end of the week so should be on sale into next week. (This includes some our our custom print Belbal 14 crystal clear balloon).

Hi All,

Following a lot of hard work and some minor set backs over recent months we are happy to announce that your new friendly, family run, online only, premium & professional quality balloon store, Balloon Ace, is finally open.

Our initial product line will include a selection of premium & professional quality balloons from Belbal, Qualatex and Tuf-tex.

The website launch will be in two stages as follows:
- Stage 1 (16 May 2019) - Tuf-tex balloons (11", 14" 17" 24" & 36" balloons in crystal, metallic and standard finishes)
- Stage 2 (20 May 2019 - TBC) - Addition of Balloon Ace, Belbal and Qualatex balloons.

Looks good. I'll wait until all your balloons are in stock, and then have a proper browse then. Initial comments, are that things look basic, but good. (Sometimes basic is better, as it's quicker to move around the site.)

Hi all,

We have been receiving a bit of feedback on here, which is good. We appreciate all feedback and try to action it where we can. Please send any further feedback either good or bad.

As a quick update the Belbal balloons have come in early and are being uploaded to the store today after we have counted them.

The Qualatex have been delayed until tomorrow which is a little frustrating.

Belbal crystals in 12" and 14" are still on order and are expected any day.
