Does someone knows who invented the word looner?

    Hi everybody,

I'm only 26 years old, so I'm a young "looner" and that word was already there when I discovered on the internet that I wasn't the only balloon fetichist. So this topic might be addressed to the people that were there at the beginnings of the looner comunity. So to the people who remember it, could you say when the looner was first used and when it started to be used to design someone with a balloon fetichist.

I hope there's a thrilling story behind this word, and I'm really looking forward to reading a bit about the beginnings of the looner community

My understanding is that looner, is just a shortening of "loon" (as in "balloon") and the "er" prefix. I'm guessing that calling us "ballooners" seemed too technical, so someone decided to shorten-it to "looner" instead.

Just as you have "skater" in relation to people who skate, or "carer" for people who work in the caring profession. I don't think there's any more to "looner" than that, alas.
