looking for an older video in higher resolution

    hi all.

i have an old video from back in 2004 and im looking to see if anyone has, or knows if it is available in a higher resolution / quality version.

its called Tyler in balloon pee. runs for 43 minutes.
the one i have is in RM format and is not very clear at all.
would love to get this video in a higher quality format if its around.
given the time it was recorder, i would guess its entirely possible that this is the best it is going to get.

i have attached a pic of the opening title screen.
    and another from the video.

the quality of these screen shots should show how low the quality of the one i have is.

Try to improve the quality yourself using AI software...

You won't find high quality. It was made and sold as VHS tapes. VHS quality was the highest general quality at the time for her then as far as I know.

Thanks for the tip about the ai software. I’ll check it out.

As for high resolution, what I meant was higher than the low quality one I have.
Maybe someone had re digitised it using more modern software and hardware.
I understand there’s a limit to the original source, but it can definitely be better than the low quality RM file I have.

          Thanks for the tip.

I’ve tried the free trial and it seems to be very capable.
          Sadly my laptop isn’t.

I did the first run at upscaling it to 640x480 with a basic setting and it took 3 hours but produced an acceptable and noticeable improvement.

Tried a second attempt at a higher more detailed setting at 720x576 and the preview looked like it was going to be really nice. But the program keeps crashing due to lack of dedicated VRAM. I’ve lowered the program use of VRAM to the lowest possible and it’s just not happy at that resolution.

I’m trying again at 640x480 with increased quality and it seems to be stable.
5hrs to process a 43 min video. But if it works it’s worth it.

Wish the buy price for the software wasn’t so high. After the trial I’ll not be able to keep using it.

          Thanks again for the tip.

If you don't abhor piracy, here are the patches for Topaz software - v2.3.0 is tested and safe:

Haven't tried it yet, but heard good reviews about another AI video enhancer: DVDFab Video Enhancer AI
