    Terminology

I had never made any contact whatsoever with other looners in my life, and some of the terminology I´ve started to see here in this forum is outright alien to me, like "GP1200" an so on.

Can anyone give me a quick run on what all these things mean?

    Re: Terminology

    Did you mean, “GL1200?”

You can find the meaning of that and other terms here: https://wiki.looner.org/Main_Page

Please note that the wiki is relatively new.

Can you give some more ezamples of terms you don't understand? It's a bit difficult to know where to start otherwise.

I'm not faniliar wirh a "GP1200" – if you meant "GL1200", the GL series are all zeppelin balloons, that is to say long cylindrical ones. The number after the "GL" relates to the size: generally speaking, a biggee number means a bigger balloon.

        Re: Terminology

A GL1200 is simply one very humpable balloon

And. A GL1200 balloon can be a really fun craft to float on a lake with.
If you do it in windy weather it has the control and you just go along for the ride.
Read more about it in my tråd FLOATING ON A GL1200
