Re: Poundland 24" balloons
i echo NoPops4Me's comment, having checked all my local Poundlands with big hopes and found nothing. Very deflating
But these threads are very good to give us all a heads-up when new balloon supplies are available in high-street UK shops.
Thanks & keep up the good work!Comment

Re: Poundland 24" balloons
Thanks, Larry, for the link!
For anyone who wants to know more, the "Globos" brand balloons are also known as "Globos Payaso". They're from Norway, and have been in business since 1949.
As such, they're a well-established company.
I've not used their 24"/2ft balloons at all, so cannot comment on them yet, but whilst they look more spherical compared to the Qualatex 24"/2ft balloons, if they're good enough, then these will be fun for looners to enjoy.
I will hopefully place an order for some of these from Amazon, and see what they're like.Comment

Re: Poundland 24" balloons
Without wanting to be disrespectful; I wonder if these were in another shop with similar name to Poundland, such as PoundStretcher or other similar type of shops?
Poundland has the green frontage, is that right?Comment

Re: Poundland 24" balloons
Reading BallooBounce's post I'm not wanting to be disrespectful either. But there only seems to have been the one packet of these balloons (the last packet you bought) at Elephant & Castle Poundland. No other branch appears to stock them. All very mysterious.Comment

Re: Poundland 24" balloons
To be fair to Larry, I'm sure he's capable of knowing the difference between Poundland, PoundStretcher, or any other such stores. Please don't start thinking that just because he's the only person to have found these, that that means he's made a mistake of some kind.
For what it's worth, I've discovered that every Poundland store just gets sent stock. They can't order stuff in, or have another branch send their stock to your local branch, even if you pre-pay for it. Basically, stores get sent stuff, at random, and whatever they get sent, is what gets put on your local stores shop shelves.
That sounds like Larry has been extremely lucky, and also, that - potentially - this may have been stock NOT meant for Poundland, and his branch in London got sent it potentially by mistake. If their order sheets simply said, something like: "Inventory - 5 x packs of large balloons", and that's what the store has been sent, then the staff aren't going to bother seeing whether this is the right sort of balloon or not. As far as they will be concerned, it all matches up, and thus the stock went out on the shelves.
This would then explain why only his branch has had them, and no one else (yet) has been lucky enough.
So, whilst it's hugely disappointing that other stores don't have any, there may be legitimate reasons why only his branch has had them, and most other stores don't appear to have done.
It's annoying, I grant you, but it's not Larry's fault. He's just been very lucky.Comment
