Oh yeah, you jogged my memory of this one too! I remember actually seeing a bit of it before it was subbed. Thanks for reminding me!

An early Sesame Street episode where Rita Moreno pin popped many balloons scattered across the floor, and taped to a wall. While I was completely terrified of watching this, for some reason, I secretly enjoyed it. I am pretty sure that this is the reason why I love women with long hair, short skirts, black nylons, and boots popping balloons! Thankfully, another member of this forum found the video for me, and I am able to enjoy it again!

Glad you enjoyed it! I was that member so I can easily share it with anyone interested. The original had the popping part sped up, so I made a version where it happens at a more normal rate too. Sadly, the sound editor was a bit lax at making every noise coincide with the visuals, but a good enough match for the early 1970's. (And to be a bit nitpicky about it, the scene comes from "The Electric Company" - which to be fair was a lot like Sesame Street! )

On that note, my interest has been caught by many scenes over the years - you may recall I had a site listing ANY blowing scenes I could find, even though a lot of them maybe weren't to my personal liking. Always wanted to be a librarian as a kid. I've actually just finished an update and will share it here soon, though you may have to download it as a zip and run it off your hard drive. Best I can do in lieu of web hosting!

But as for what caught my interest, I was always fascinated by the segment on the Brazilian show "Fantasia" where callers got to guess what bikini babe could blow a balloon to pop the fastest. It was best when they failed, because they got up to three guesses, with repeat performances by the non-winners...
Some remain online:

The Elizabeth Hurley scene in Austin Powers has already been mentioned, but that was an 'OMG' moment for sure. And seeing Brie Larson blow up balloons not once but twice (episodes 2x08 and 2x12) on "United States of Tara" was quite surprising too - in a good way.

The most recent episode of DonBrothers has a particular scene. Long story short, Haruka (and Saruhara) have to protect a man's painting. The man was the apprentice of the person who created it. While they're waiting, the man asks if Haruka will model for him for a painting. Haruka accepts and, well, the man wants her to hold a pose of being in the middle of blowing up a balloon. Cue a short scene of her blowing it up and holding it between her lips.

It does not pop, for those wondering. Saruhara eventually knocks it out of her hands and it goes flying around the room. The last pic shows the finished painting.

When I was younger I was fascinated and scared of a scene where Piglet is running to bring Eeyore a big red balloon, gets distracted by Owl and crashes into a tree before rolling and bouncing a bunch before landing atop the balloon and there's a dramatic pause right before it explodes.

The 'Sesame Street' scene I listed as wanted in my last update has appeared on Youtube. It's nothing spectacular but might be nostalgic or even interesting to some:
