      Re: Hello and welcome!

Hi I'm Ballooner Looner, super original name I know..

I'm relatively new to the looner scene, my partner introduced me to it about 5 years ago and I haven't looked back.

I love love love any crystal/jewel colours, I like being able to see through them but I also really enjoy filling the up with squirty cream and sitting on them (I'm also a foodie). I'm still trying to find the perfect brand and explore with all the different shapes and sizes, I use my breath to blow up all my balloons, so I cant go huge at the moment.

I want to share my new passion and have a looner only fans page, https://onlyfans.com/balloonerlooner I love balloons and voyeurism, I love thinking about people watching me play with balloons and being told what to do with them 😋🎈 please support if you can

Thank you for letting me join!!

            Re: Hello and welcome!

            Hello, I'm meidolooner.

I love balloons, inflatables and maid outfits! I've had a balloon fetish for as long as I can remember myself. My balloon fetish probably originates from a big balloon phobia I had in childhood. I am still quite afraid of popping balloons on purpose, which is a shame because I actually find popping balloons super hot and I enjoy accidental pops I sometimes have.

I like mouth inflation, I find the huffing and puffing sounds very cute. I do have a balloon pump too though. Sometimes it's fun to see balloons inflate so fast on the pump. My favorite balloons are the smaller ones, 16" and lower. I enjoy Qualatex balloons a lot.

I also like bubble gum a bit, I am not very good at making big bubbles but I love how carefully you must inflate the bubble for it not to pop x)

I hope I'll find many new people to discuss my fetish with!
I like to work my lungs, huff and puff~~

              Hi everyone.

I'm a 35 year old male from Denmark. I have been a looner since my teens where i overcame my phobia of ballons and loud noises and gained this love for balloons instead.

I have been reading this forum for a long time but never really got around to posting here.

I hope i can make a few new looner friends from Denmark here.

                Hi Noxid.

Welcome to the ranks of "posters". I am Danish as well, and you are very welcome to write me. It seems like we have both somewhat similar background and also quite similar preferences when it comes to balloons.
I could be nice to discuss this in our own language.

                  Re: Hello and welcome!

This is a common theme among, especially, poppers: an unusual fear of sudden and loud noises at least one point in their [usually] earlier parts of their lives.

I'm just wondering if psychology actually has a WORD OR TERM for this, where some kind of actual FEAR becomes "repurposed" or at least becomes or leads to some aspect of erotic arousal. I would assume that such a term exists. Just curious.

Obviously, it's some word other than "fetish" which is not at all specific. Most fetishes, such as foot or hair fetishes, or for that matter fetishes for vinyl pool toys, or Spandex, certainly aren't likely based from any kind of original fear.

I'm sure it IS a concept that's known, though. Similarly, because it's the very same concept, I read somewhere once (long before there was an Internet which developed its huge and weird cesspool of "fake news" and all) that many mountain-climbers originally had fears of heights.

I think there's more to this, than people merely wanting to conquer their fears.
People who don't know the difference between BURRO and BURROW, can't tell their ass from a hole in the ground.

There's been a lot of thefts of helium-filled balloons recently. More so than in the past, so they're going up. I think inflation is to blame.

                      .
I asked a psychologist friend if there was a diagnostic term for the phenomenon of a phobia becoming a source of sexual arousal. He said yes, they often use the term "conversion" to describe the psychological process by which people change fear into pleasure. In essence a phobia is converted into a fetish through a chemical process in the brain.

He says that, left to its own devices, our brain actively seeks pleasure over pain-- actually that is a very Freudian idea called "the pleasure principle".

In order to obtain and sustain the dopamine hit of pleasure we build neural pathways that convert chronic fear into pleasurable experiences whenever possible. I guess you could call it self-motivated behavior modification, driven by the hard-wired goal of minimizing pain and maximizing pleasure. My psychologist friend maintains that such behavior exists in virtually all mentally healthy people.

As you intimate in your note, there are tons of paths that lead people to develop fetishes. A phobia is only one such path. But it is generally believed that some kind of traumatic event is at the root of fetishes in general. The example my friend spoke about is the common fetish that many men have for nylon stockings and high heeled shoes. Psychologists have long speculated that this fetish is likely formed when, for example, a small child clings to their mother's leg in response to a threatening situation (i.e., a traumatic event). The reassuring feel of the stockings and vision of the shoes are imprinted along with the intense triggering trauma. Our brain separates the pain of trauma from the safe, comforting, pleasurable aspects of the experience. Hence the conversion of a traumatic memory from chronic fear into pleasurable fetish.

Human behavior is not easy to predict nor to understand -- there are an infinity of variables. But I think I buy my friend's hypothesis, and he insists that there are masses of literature and case studies to support it.

                        Hello I’m Ava

Completely balloon phobic as a child and still am to some extent. Definitely a non popper and don’t like situations with balloons when I am not in control. Wondering if anyone out there is similar?

                        Have a lovely day

Hello, I call myself hansdudl (I hope nobody has such a name in real life )

I am a 22 years old looner from Germany and I try to integrate my balloon fetish in a healthy, nondigital, partner(or due Corona: Tinder)-based manner in my life...
Or at least to learn how to fully(&ruthlessly?) stand up for my sexual orientation towards others.
I hope to catch some inspirations about how to be a more self-confident looner/maybe some hints about looning in a shared appartment (and maybe to find some companions, who are no NoFap-fanatics and still want to reduce their digital porn consumption)

Hi There! My name is Rosie and I absolutely LOVE balloons and inflatables. I live in the state of Georgia but I don't wanna say where. I hope we can respect that. I'm a lesbian, I'm also a little. I have always liked balloons as a child but it started out as a phobia and my family used to tease and force me to like balloons because I was "embarrassing" them. I remember trying so hard to convince everyone that I didn't like balloons but the interest was always there. I love playing with balloons now, especially blowing them up. It makes so happy! I love helium balloons too. I'm a semi popper too! So I'm happy to make new looner friends.

Ps.. I make looner erotica too! but I don't know where to post that.
