Default Leaving Balloons out in the sun all day?
I was thinking about how i could make my balloons softer, like ones you would get after an event, and got me thinking. What would happen if i blew up some balloon then left them outside in the sun all day? Would it make the balloons softer or would it not effect them very much?

It would work. I've tried similar and they get nice, oxidized and soft. Different brands react different ways.

But you need to be careful though. They might pop, because the air inside expands and might be too much for the balloon.

Leaving them in the sun works, but baking them is quicker and more reliable - 5-15 minutes in the oven at 290F will make balloons much stretchier and easier to inflate. Just be careful not to overdo it! You can also use a dryer on high heat for 15-30 minutes for a similar effect.

As others have said, a small dose of daylight (rather than direct sunlight) will help, but it can also make them go fragile, and/or pop easily, if they are tightly inflated. They may also develop weak spots, depending on how long, and how bright/hot the weather is.

So I tried it yesterday with some 12in and they got a little stretchier but mostly more fragile. One of them did end up popping in the sun, I guess the Colorado sun all day is too much Maybe i will try the baking or dryer today.

I'd recommend trying baking balloons with smaller/cheaper ones first, the best amount of time varies quite a bit between brands.
