Popping by using a remote or radio controlled car

I would like to have a method of popping a balloon upstairs while I'm downstairs, which is easier than having to use a soldering iron.

I thought a radio or remote controlled car with a pin stuck to the front would be a good idea. But would it even be possible for the signal to go through the walls or floors?

If it is possible, is it only possible with certain types of RC cars, or would any do?

    Thanks.

No. I don't know much about them.

Okay, so it seems remote control is infrared and will be blocked by walls, and radio control is a signal that can go through walls.

I'll pick up a radio control car from Tesco when I do my shopping tomorrow.

It worked when I tried it for this exact purpose many years ago. Made it work from outside too.

Okay, so I've now bought a radio controlled car and it worked! I managed to pop a balloon with it while it was in the attic bedroom, and I was in the living room, also while I was outside too.

I will go into more detail about it and show more pictures in my topic about feeling embarrassed about the neighbours hearing a balloon popping session.

I will definitely try it, I have an old (35 year old) RC car...

I think you need to add a small wireless video camera on the car, transmission of the situation in front of the car to your mobliphone or computer.
