An adult variation of The Red Balloon.
A young man named Pascal just had a nasty break-up with his girlfriend. While driving home, a big red balloon captures his attention - so he steps out of his car and rescues the balloon.
The sun sets, and it turns out that the balloon is no ordinary balloon. The balloon can talk... and she has a sultry female voice. She introduces herself as Luna. As it's Friday, Pascal and Luna spend almost all their time together for the next two days.
On Monday, Pascal has to go back to work. Luna really wants to go to work with Pascal, but Pascal explains that he doesn't think his boss would really appreciate his bringing a balloon to work. Luna is dejected upon hearing that, but Pascal promises to return home immediately after work. As Pascal leaves his place of occupation, he finds Luna outside waiting for him. While Pascal is a bit taken aback, he is grateful that Luna waited outside - rather than entering the building and potentially getting Pascal fired.
Later that week, Pascal and Luna meet a young women named Sabine - who also has a living blue balloon named Luke. At some point, Pascal and Sabine even go on a double date with their balloons.
Unfortunately, Pascal's ex-girlfriend is very vengeful - and, eventually, she pops Luna right in front of Pascal. Grief-stricken, Pascal sits down on a rock ledge and begins to cry - staring forlornly at the remains of Luna.
Sabine walks over, and sits next to Pascal. Sabine gently explains that her balloon has also popped. Pascal asks if an ex-boyfriend popped it. Sabine shakes her head, explaining that she never had a date - and that Luke got popped by a fan. She then sympathetically suggests that having a balloon intentionally popped by a spiteful person must be even worse. Pascal responds that it's not a competition, and that they both suffered a great loss.
Sabine then suggests that Luna and Luke probably went to balloon heaven. The scene shifts to show Luna and Luke surrounded by clouds and bubbles, suggesting that they are now a couple. Pascal grabs Sabine's hand, as the two of them stand up.
As Pascal and Sabine are walking on the beach, a swarm of colourful balloons dance around them - as the scene fades to black.
