It does work but its depends on the type/make of balloons. It's also very easy to screw up! From experience you want to pre-inflate them and then lay them inside a folded foil pouch inside sn oven set to 175*c for around 5-10 minutes. These are just rough guides though, every oven is different as are balloons. It takes some experimenting to get right. I've had a 16" pastel unique reach around 30" and some 12" sempertex crystals reach aroung 18".

I've been looking for good balloon baking guides. I'm new on these forums, is there a way to save posts?

        Re: Is anyone into heatstretching?

I thought my favorite double-wide pocketed Swimline air mattress was becoming unavailable, but I found a stock of them and bought quite a few, and I found a Poolmaster that seems to be identical and bought several of those. They're over $30 each atm. Ouch.

And now that my stock is replenished I heat stretched one of them. The plan is to get enough air under me in the pool that I can float comfortably with my partner. I started with a modest stretch to preserve strength. It did get wider but not wide enough for her to lay next to me, but half on top of me it seems to float more weight than it did. It's current width is 56 inches inflated, but it doesn't lie flat in the pool with a lot of weight on it. It curls up like a bowl and gets narrower. Maybe still wide enough for two large people, but it's impossible to stay on the thing when you get right to the edge. So, it'll have to get bigger. It gets more taller rather than wider with heat stretching, though.

Anyone else float in the pool on a heatstretched inflatable?

I still want to test this, but neither of these women have been in the pool with me. But I did get my partner, at 450 pounds or so, on a heatstretched 36 inch tube. It held her for a while, but popped. Had she just laid in it it probably would have been fine, but she sat forward and loaded it unevenly. Boom! So, I didn't get to try it.

I'd love to live somewhere in Texas where I have lots of private land to just play with my inflatables outside and enjoy that sun warmed vinyl bounce. ^///^ Maybe one day, for now, my toys have to be kept hidden in boxes and containers in my storage unit since I don't really have anywhere private to enjoy them.

After stretching some boats I finally started to stretch a towable tube Its getting huge and so great to ride, cant wait to stretch the other parts too. The third pic is from internet, to show how it looked before stretching.

I absolutely love heat stretched inflatables.

When inflatables are not heat stretched they don't do much for me, I find them too hard, and I'm not keen on the wrinkles along the seam.

But when they're heat stretched I love the fact that they go really big, soft, and they have a sexy fat, rounded, look to them.

I have many inflatables that I've heat stretched, I'll have to show pictures of them some time, some of them are absolutely massive!

I like to heat stretch by putting the inflatable in an empty bath, and then pouring boiling water over it from a kettle.

I can’t wait for some pictures!! I also love that big and fat look, they also get stofter and bouncier.

Ahh I love it! I personally use a small steam cleaner with a hose attachment and an electric pump to do it. Here’s one I did last week. I have a few pics riding it too if anyone wants I also did an Intex Explorer 200 like this but my gf accidentally burst it...
                        Enjoy!
