Do your balloons degrade faster in hot humid weather?

My GL1200 seems to be going soft, and leaking air faster than during the dry cooler winter months

InYes. The primary enemies of latex are heat, oxygen and sunlight. It's simple chemistry. Latex oxidizes easily. When you add heat to the equation it dramatically accelerates the process of oxidation. Oxidation is even faster when you add the ultraviolet radiation of sunlight. For uninflated balloons the best storage is in an airtight, light-tight container in a cool location. Storing balloons in a simple covered opaque container in a refrigerator is great, but if that's not practical, a bottom cabinet, a seldom used drawer, or the bottom of a closet are good places to place your containers of balloons. Covered biscuit tins and opaque plastic storage bins work great. I don't recommend the clear or translucent plastic storage bins because they can allow some UV light.

Now to your question which relates to inflated balloons in warm weather. The best way to slow down the oxidation process is to store the inflated toys in a dark cool place. There's nothing you can do to prevent the oxidation but you can slow it somewhat by keeping the balloon as cool as possible and away from direct light. It's really best to deflate them between sessions and store them as described above.
