My balloon clip got stuck

The clip on one of my balloons got stuck.

Like, so stuck I accidentally broke a part of the clip while trying to pry it off and it's still stuck

I might go buy safety scissors at this point but I worry not even that will work.

In the meantime, what should I do?

So is the clip still stuck on the balloon & you can't open it? Take a photo it is easier to see what is going on.

Yep. It's still on my balloon and it won't open. It's kinda chipping apart the more I pry.

Maybe try a pair of pliers.

Where the clip broke just pull it apart carefully, or just jam a flat object in there to pry it open, that is what I would do. It should work.

My suggestion would be to force the thing open, but use something blunt like the rounded end of a teaspoon, or a blunt butter knife, and just break it. As annoying as it is, it'll be cheaper to replace the clip, than to try and salvage it.

Worst-case-scenario, just smash it apart, and break it off.

I have had to pry clips apart — they were medium or large-sized clips that got stuck because they were off-center and part of the neck got stuck in the hinge, I believe.

I bought a 40+" Cattex balloon a while back, along with a large clip and found it really difficult both to put on and take off. Think it's the thickness of the latex that causes it.

How's the balloon neck, did it suffer any damage?

Those clips always leave a crease on the balloon neck, but as far as I've experienced, it's fine. My balloon is okay too.

Good to hear that, as it looked as though it was a good sized balloon. It would have been a pity to ruin it for the sake of a clip.
