This is only the introduction to what hopefully becomes a much larger piece of work. Figured the story would need to start off with a bang, if you know what I mean

Please let me know what you think, I love helpful criticism. I've already completed a full chapter that builds on the intro, but it's going slow. I don't have much time to actually work on it.

Thank you! I actually have 6 more currently written that follow the main character's storyline. I'm planning on releasing them all together as one big collection of short stories once I'm happy with them.
